Hailing from Melbourne, Australia; Dougie, Lorenzo, Jonathon and Toby formed The Temper Trap in 2005. Having toured throughout Australia in their initial years as a group, The Temper Trap’s “…rousing, incessant anthems” (The Fly) eventually attracted the attention of renowned UK music producer Jim Abbiss, who they worked with to record their debut album ‘Conditions’ before relocating to England at the beginning of 2009.
Since their relocation, The Temper Trap have toured the UK and Europe extensively and taken their exhilarating live show to over 30 festivals across the world this summer alone- sharing stages with Florence and The Machine, Silversun Pickups, TV on The Radio and Glasvegas amongst others. Their breakthrough single ‘Sweet Disposition’ has been described by NME as ‘… a beatific, calm-evoking four minutes of lingering, floating melodies…’ and became the anthem of the summer, climbing the UK charts for over 10 weeks. The album ‘Conditions’ garnered great reviews and achieved silver status six weeks after release.
It’s been a breakthrough year for The Temper Trap who continue to thrill audiences at consecutively sold out shows including London’s Koko and a series of dates at Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
As critical acclaim mounts around the band on the eve of releasing their third single ‘Fader’ described in Q as “Irresistible burst of drive-time rock…”, The Temper Trap look set for another epic year.
